My tape backups have been driving me crazy for over a month. We have two Dell servers using lto2 tapes for backup. About a month ago, two hosted zones stopped properly backing up. We select in ntbackup a batch file in addition which is scheduled for 00:05 all morning. The problem is that it’s free, saves when it’s running Ne (or shouldn’t be). No entry suggests no or runs ntbackup, probably checks for .errors, No telling you why the backup isn’t actually working or why the scheduled event isn’t running. I have duplicate credentials, schedule settings and a scheduled event on both hosting servers. Can I run group files manually and the backup works fine. I just checked my directory on the server and the last cartridge that actually worked was 16 (it will be the Friday cartridge). I can’t get permission to buy backup software, so hopefully I can get a good explanation e.
After your organization sets up scheduled tasks, do you usually log out of the server and lock it up?
When you log in, your tasks may not run because they are tied to a specific user, and when you log out, the tasks are completed.
Try to stay up to date, but turn off just desktop viewing and see what happens tonight.
In addition, each task requires that you have a perfect valid username and current password that meet the requirements for obtaining an operating system. You cannot have an empty password.
If the scheduled task provides the correct username, password, and current activity, this may be due to the task’s connection settings in the service’s scheduler. In most cases, use the local system account, account, but disable the Allow service to interact with the desktop setting. In my environment, the “Allow service communication” setting desktop with desktop” is currently enabled. A review of the situation should resolve this issue.
